Terminal Options/Accessories...Simplicity's Data Collection Terminal will support most of our popular accessories...
The standard plastic case may not be rugged enough for some industrial applications; that's why the terminal can be fitted with our die-cast metal case which will provide years of service under the harshest conditions.
The ability to communicate on a local area network will enable you to run several terminals from a single computer.
With an internal modem, a terminal can perform remote communications with your personal computer. This will allow you to use the terminal at a remote site without having to use separate computers.
INTERNAL BAR CODE READER
In many instances, bar code style badges are preferred over magnetic stripe badges. This option allows the terminal to read both types of badges without the need for an external reader.
With the optional Battery Back-up, the Data Collection Terminals will remain fully operational for up to four hours in the event of a power failure. Once power is restored, the battery will automatically recharge itself.
With the optional Bar Code Wand, employees can enter data from a variety of sources. From inventory to fast and easy department transfers, the Bar Code Wand is ideal for data collection in a number of applications.
SIGNAL CONTROL RELAY
The Signal Control Relay can receive signals from the Data Collection Terminal which it then uses to operate various devices such as bells and door access hardware. The Signal Control Relay can support both hard-wired and plug-in type hardware.
The Smart Converter is an RS485 line driver which will allow you to connect several terminals on a LAN network up to 5000 feet away. Additionally the Smart Converter can be used to connect multiple terminals to an external modem to allow polling of the terminals at a remote location. For example, the Smart Converter will allow a system operator at a home office location to poll several terminals at a warehouse location via a standard dial-up phone line. The Smart Converter also eliminates the need to add additional modem lines to a remote location to support terminal polling.
